The newly formed organization, Citizens for Clean Air (C4CA), has been working on several fronts to fight the proposed power plant at the Ford site.

On February 1, 2010,  the Oakville Town Council passed the Health Protection Air Quality By-law 2010-035 as a means of protecting the health of its residents from the effects of fine particulate matter emitted by facilities within Oakville.  February 2, 2010 press release - click here

The Ontario government recently established a task force led by Dr. David Basillie to reduce emissions from various sources and improve air quality in SW GTA. For more information, click here.

On December 4, 2009, the Ontario Municipal Board released its decision on two items related to power generation facilities. While it struck down the Town's Official Plan Amendment 296, it upheld the Town's interim control by-law which would permit the Town to further study appropriate policies for the planned power plant on the Ford property.

 The fight is far from over! There are many options to pursue.
