It was cold and it was wet, but this did not deter an estimated 400-500 students and residents on Wednesday, November 4th,  from gathering at Chisholm Educational Centre on Cornwall Road to protest the Ontario government’s 900 MW planned power plant, less than 400 metres from this site.
The students, organized by the Oakville Trafalgar High School Environmental Club, began their rally at their school and weaved their way up Maple Grove Drive to Chisholm chanting, “We want clean air, it’s not fair.” 
Joined by students from other local schools, their message was clear. Homes and schools do not mix with power plants. There are 11,000 homes and 10 schools within a 3-mile radius from the proposed site.
